Blackberry Margarita Recipe - Chisel & Fork (1)

I'm all about fruit co*cktails - from a strawberry gin smash to a mango mojito to a passion fruit margarita. And this blackberry margarita is my latest concoction.

Everyone has had a traditional margarita, which consists of tequila, lime juice and simple syrup. It is one of those drinks that is super easy to make and very refreshing.

But why not add a twist to it? With blackberries season just around the corner, I thought it appropriate to share one of my favorites.

And instead of a simple syrup, I decided to use fresh honey as it is just one less step! But you can of course make simple syrup as well.

I prefer my margaritas on the rocks, but you are welcome to make a frozen version if you prefer. So if you love margaritas, but want to take advantage of some fresh fruit, I suggest giving this one a try.

FAQs

Silver vs. Gold Tequila?

Silver tequila is bottled right after the distilling process, giving it a stronger agave flavor. Gold tequila is either aged in barrels or has caramel coloring added. With that said, silver tequila is not only cheaper but better for mixed drinks.

If you only have something like rum. No problem. just make a rum margarita!

Can I Use Frozen Fruit?

If you don’t have fresh blackberries, frozen blackberries will work fine.

Can I Make a Frozen Margarita?

If you want a frozen margarita, just add about 5 cups of ice to the blender and blend with the other ingredients.

Pro Tips/Recipe

  • Usehoneyinstead of simple syrup. It may not be traditional buttakes less workandadds additional flavor.
  • Usesilver tequilawhen making the margarita. Gold tequila canmuddy the flavor.
  • Usedcrushed icewhich will make the margarita colder quicker.
